Growing up my Uncle Johnny pushed me to be more open, not so shy. He pushed me to enter Junior Miss America. He pushed me to sing and force me on American band stand. So much more. I pushed back and fought back but he got through anyway. I became a good person and I think he knew me more than anyone. (Something funny. I will never forget the look on his face when I was about 12 and he was opening a birthday present I made for him. He had started balding and I cut my hair and made a terrible wig for him. I wonder if he still has it). Around him he was always a second Father. I loved him always. I am devastated I can not kiss him goodbye. I hope he knows I am hugging him right now.
Your Lyn, he never called me Linda

John was a huge part of my youth and the early years for so many kids in South Philly. His service to the community throughout his life sets him apart from anyone else Ive known in my life. It was more than a job....he cared about kids and made a difference. He will be missed greatly. The world is immediately a worse place without him. So sorry for the great loss his family will endure. He is in my prayers.
